RADIO DREAMS & DEAD AIR NIGHTMARES
A peek behind the scenes of what’s really going on when the microphone is off.
Grace LaVette dreams of a highly successful career in radio while she struggles on the overnight shift. Even as she finds her own voice, she develops personas to match the various formats and hides behind fake names. Radio, and her male coworkers—one of whom she falls for—provide a rollercoaster of zany antics, madcap morning shows, male chauvinsim, getting promoted and being fired. The story is punctuated with dead air nightmares and woven with threads of infidelity and romance. One of Lisa's editors said "It's WKRP in Cincinnati meets #MeToo."

LAKE MICHIGAN: THE WISCONSIN SHORE
Lovers of Lake Michigan! Nine Wisconsin photographers share their best images in this beautiful, glossy, hardcover book. Many are once-in-a-lifetime shots, such as white-tailed deer running joyfully through the shallow waters of Lake Michigan and pictures taken while crewing on the tall ship Denis Sullivan as it made its way into the Sheboygan Harbor at sunset. The book showcases over 100 gorgeous photographs along with descriptive captions, poetry and Great Lakes facts.

The book was recognized in 2015 as a National Indie Excellence Award Finalist.

About the Book
I was inspired to create this book after capturing white-tailed deer running in the shallow waters of Lake Michigan, by the Spectacular Backlit Wave photo from photographer Ron Klunk, and a photography book by Steve Brimm with stunning winter scenes of Lake Superior.

The photographers featured in the book leave the house before dawn to catch the special morning light. They brave frigid winter conditions to get a unique scene. Dragging heavy tripods and camera bags, they miss dinner in order to capture the golden hour lighting in the late afternoon. It shows in the photography!

I am so proud of this book. My wish is that 100 years from now it will provide a snapshot of life along the lake; that it will illustrate Wisconsin and Lake Michigan in the early 21st Century.

The photographers and I hope that seeing the pictures will bring your memories of the lake to life and inspire you visit it more often. As a friend put it, "The book blends the beauty of the lake with respect of nature."
