Lake Michigan: The Wisconsin Shore, a book of photography by Lisa A. Lehmann
LAKE MICHIGAN: THE WISCONSIN SHORE

"The book blends the beauty of the lake with respect of nature."

Nine Wisconsin photographers share their best images in this glossy hardcover coffee table book. Many are once-in-a-lifetime shots, like white-tailed deer running through the shallow waters of Lake Michigan, or sunset photos from the tall ship Denis Sullivan. The book showcases over 100 gorgeous photographs along with captions, poetry and Great Lakes facts.

"The photography by the artists who submitted their photos for this book is astounding! It is definitely a must-have for anyone with a love for the Lake Michigan shoreline."

What people are saying:
  • The book is a knockout. I could not put it down until I had looked at every page and read each caption.
  • Beautiful!! Took me back to the lake I remember, yet gave me a whole new way to see it as well. Nicely done!
  • After spending just a few minutes with the book this morning, I felt like I had been on a vacation to Wisconsin. It brought me right back to childhood.
  • My son received his book and called me right away. He was so happy to see the pictures that reminded him of home... Thanks for helping me find the perfect book.

About the Book
Lisa was inspired to create LAKE MICHIGAN: THE WISCONSIN SHORE after capturing white-tailed deer running in the shallow waters with her first 4MP digital camera. Also by the Spectacular Backlit Wave photo from photographer Ron Klunk and by a Steve Brimm photography book with stunning winter scenes of Lake Superior.

The photographers featured in LAKE MICHIGAN: THE WISCONSIN SHORE  rose before dawn to catch the special morning light. They braved frigid winter conditions to get unique scenes. They dragged heavy tripods and missed dinner in order to capture golden hour light. It shows in the photography.

Lisa imagines that in 100 years the photos will provide a snapshot of life as it is now in the early 21st Century.

A portion of the proceeds were donated to Glacial Lakes Conservancy and a number of books were shared with recipients of Fresh Meals on Wheels, Sheboygan.

WAITING TO SAIL
Georgia Ressmeyer

“Take a deep breath with Georgia Ressmeyer’s Waiting to Sail. Listen to the waves crash, the swooping gulls (Floundering), the silence. Notice the empty room, the door (Song for Two Voices), the fragility of being human (Last Walk). What does the Lake Michigan wind bring to the heart? It brings the white pelican, the storm, the calm, destruction and birth. What does the wind take away? The feather, a father, the storm. Share Ressmeyer’s natural language and unforgettable imagery through the seasons by the water. Don’t wait. Sail with her.” —Bruce Dethlefsen, Wisconsin Poet Laureate (2011-2012)
